Raffaella Carloni

 

Raffaella Carloni received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Bologna and she joined the University of Twente in February 2008, where she is currently an Associate Professor. She is a member of the IFAC Technical Committee in Robotics. She is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Robotics Journal and she regularly serves in the Editorial Board of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society conferences. In 2016, she is Area Chair of the International Conference Robotics: Science and Systems.

Her research activities focus on the modeling, mechanical design , and control of compliant robots. Application scenarios of particular interest are: (1) Bipedal robots and leg prostheses, (2) Haptic teleoperation of aerial manipulators for inspection by contact, (3) Assistive robotic arms.
